Where does Dawson's source its seafood?
At Dawson's Oyster Supplies, we work closely with trusted Australian seafood suppliers, local fishing co-operatives and oyster farming families.
Our fresh seafood is sourced through Sydney Fish Market and suppliers including Red Funnel Fisheries, Newcastle Commercial Fishermen's Co-operative and Tacoma Commercial Fishermen's Co-operative.
We also source oysters directly from farming families across NSW, including Port Stephens, Forster, the Manning River and the South Coast.
How much does seafood home delivery cost?
We offer FREE local seafood delivery for orders over $50 across our Newcastle and Lake Macquarie delivery areas. For orders under $50, a flat $10 delivery fee applies.
What days do you deliver seafood?
We deliver fresh seafood to homes across Newcastle and Lake Macquarie Monday to Saturday. Simply select your preferred available delivery date when placing your order online.
What is the cut-off time for next-day seafood delivery?
Place your online seafood order before 4pm for next-day delivery.
How far in advance can I order seafood?
You can place your seafood order online up to 14 days in advance. Please note that online ordering is unavailable during certain peak periods, including Easter and the week before and after Christmas.
Can I order seafood online for in-store pickup?
Absolutely! You can order seafood online and collect it from our retail shop at 67 King Street, Warners Bay NSW. In-store pickup is available on any day our shop is trading. Visit our Contact page for current opening hours.
How do I pay for my online seafood order?
All online orders are paid securely at checkout using a credit or debit card. Payment is processed when you place your order.
What time will my seafood be delivered?
Our local seafood delivery window is 10am–3pm, Monday to Saturday. Your order will arrive on your selected delivery date within this window.
Can I request a specific delivery time?
Unfortunately, we're unable to guarantee specific delivery times, as our delivery routes vary each day. If you need your seafood for a particular occasion, we recommend selecting a delivery date that allows plenty of time for preparation and refrigeration.
What happens if I'm not home when my seafood arrives?
If you're not home when we arrive, our delivery driver will leave your order in a safe place and contact you by phone. If you won't be home to receive your delivery, please leave an esky or cooler bag with ice or ice bricks at your front door. Seafood is highly perishable and must be refrigerated as soon as possible after delivery.
How will my seafood order be packed?
Larger seafood orders are generally packed in foam boxes, while smaller orders are packed in reusable plastic bags. Fresh fish and prawns are wrapped in butcher's paper.
Are your seafood delivery vehicles refrigerated?
Yes! All Dawson's Oyster Supplies delivery vehicles are refrigerated to ensure your seafood remains under temperature control during transport.
How should I store my seafood after delivery?

Can I order seafood online for Easter or Christmas?
Due to the high volume of orders we receive during Easter and Christmas, we manage these orders separately from our regular online ordering system. Our newsletter subscribers are the first to hear when seasonal seafood pre-orders open, so we recommend signing up to stay informed.
