Squid as a food is popular all over the world and can be grilled, seared, boiled and braised. If it’s chopped up into rings, crumbed and fried we all know it as the Mediterranean dish Calamari. If prepared in a healthy way, squid is high in protein, omega 3 fatty acids, low in calories and saturated fat, and is a good source of vitamin C, iron and calcium. It’s inexpensive and versatile.
